turmeric potato curry


for curry
2-3 large potatoes - diced
1/3 teaspoon turmeric
1 green chili
1/4 nigella seeds
3-4 curry leaves
1/3 cup water, as needed
1 teaspoon salt, to taste
for tempering
1/2 small onion - sliced
1/2 teaspoon black mustard seeds
1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes
1 tablespoon ghee
1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds
6-7 curry leaves


for curry
In a pot, simmer potatoes with turmeric, green chili, curry leaves, nigella seeds, water, and salt over low heat for 15-20 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
for tempering
Heat ghee in a pan over low-medium flame. Saute onion until translucent. Add black mustard seeds, cumin seeds, red chili flakes, and curry leaves over low flame for a minute. Pour over the potatoes and serve hot.
